Lunice

Lunice

Crafting his early education listening to masters like J.Dilla, Madlib, and 9thWonder, Lunice Fermin Pierre II’s outlook completely changed when he got his first break DJ-ing legendary parties in the then-budding Montreal Bass scene circa 2007-2008. Experimenting with electro-synth sounds layered over pounding bass and drums, he soon developed a sonic aesthetic that kept the spirit of rap music while remaining as potent on the dance floor as anything else. His prowess brought about collaborations with Kanye West (“Blood on the Leaves”), Hudson Mohawke (as one half of TNGHT), Flying Lotus, and a cameo in Azealia Banks’ classic “212” video. In 2017 he opened for Madonna on a stadium World Tour, then released his debut full-length, CCCLX (360), an ambitious effort ft. SOPHIE, Denzel Curry, and Le1f. The following year, Lunice designed an award-winning experimental performance for Cirque Du Soleil. In late 2019 he dropped a surprise TNGHT EP with Hud Mo, only to disappear once again to plot a new album. Since then a trio of new singles has appeared- something fresh for Lunice with more to come....
